Living by Lake Sanaru

During the mid-summer, we can experience the coolness
under the shade of trees and the severe heat in the strong sunlight
on the promenade around Lake Sanaru.
The difference comes from only one factor:
there are big trees or not.

When I moved to Hamamatsu some 20 years ago,
there weren't many shades on the lakeside.
Only very small seedlings were on the dredged soil.
They grew beautifully over the years and are creating wonderful shades.




Many of them are deciduous broad-leaved tree,
so they don't block sunlight during the winter,

There are a lot of 'naked' areas which can host more trees around Lake Sanaru.
I am hoping to see trees be planted soon.

I've sent email to the city hall of Hamamatsu asking for the tree planting.
I hope they will do so in the near future.
